The First Light Project exists to reflect the heart of Jesus by stepping into places of suffering with His mercy, light and truth. We meet survivors of abuse at the threshold of crisis with tangible care and unwavering hope.
Through prayerful presence, practical gifts of care, acts of support and a growing network of local churches, ministries and shelters, we respond with tenderness, by faith, relentlessly trusting the Holy Spirit to guide every step. We believe that love must look like action, restoration is possible through Jesus and that God’s loving light will always shine in the darkness.

At Georgia Rose, our mission is rooted in faith and service. Why us?
This work is deeply personal to me. It comes from a place of lived experience, of walking through darkness and discovering that even there, God’s light never left. The First Light Project was not a strategy or a plan it was a stirring in my spirit, a gentle but undeniable call to help others who are hurting in the ways I once was. Through every trial, God was shaping me. Not just for survival but for service. He’s opened my eyes to the needs so many face in silence women and families in crisis, looking for safety, hope and someone who will see them through the eyes of Christ.

I don’t come with all the answers but I come with a willing heart, eager hands and deep faith that He leads our steps. This project is my ‘yes’ to Jesus to be available, to bridge the gap and to be part of His light breaking into the lives of those who need it most.
